Calculator Kid

 A comic strip I remember from my childhood in the early 80's featured a boy with a magic talking calculator. This was decades before mobile phones existed, yet alone LLMs. I was reminded of it when ChatGPT4o voice mode was announced. Calculator Kid preceeded it by forty years!

 

 

It's not actually equivalent because the calculator could predict the future and anticipate impossible-to-know events, and ChatGPT isn't quite there yet. But it's a nice reminder of how far we've come. Today's technology would definitely have felt like magic not so long ago.
